Dororo episode 1: Part 1

Post by Exodus » Sun Jan 29, 2012 2:01 pm

It's a classic anime done in conjuntion with The Skaro Hunting Society...

...I'll just copy/paste what Nanto wrote on his blog...

"This is a joint project that we've been talking about doing for some time. Dororo was the first in Fuji TV's legendary Calpis Comic Theater series of programs, which later became known as World Masterpiece Theater. Unlike many of those series which were based on famous books, Dororo was based on a manga by the great Osamu Tezuka. The television series was produced by Tezuka's Mushi Productions, the episode directors were Osamu Dezaki and Yoshiyuki Tomino and the music was done by Isao Tomita. It is also notable for being the last anime TV series to be made in black and white."

Whoa! another hidden gem from you guys! Always a fan of Tezuka, dororo always fascinated me with its mix of supernatural and "ancient" tecnology. Will the animated series give a closure to dororo story? I've seen that such a feat was acccomplished only in the videogame version "The blood will tell".

Yes, as far as I remember, in the final episode of animation, Hyakkimaru defeats the 48th demon....
