Re: Ultraman Gaia at last!

Another, more recent bit of news/rumor that suggests CR is ramping up toku licensing for future releases.

Re: Ultraman Story

Awesome. Taro definitely was an Ultra that went off the rails in his own series, and over time, was rehabilitated. I think "Story" was probably the first turning point. (Eventually he'd wind up saving his homeworld's last light in the epic Mega-Monster Battle movie, before slumming as a spark doll i...

Re: Ultraman Gaia at last!

The only thing that seems likely is that more CR-Ultra is coming. The rumors on it being Heisei-era is certainly backed up by their current product (including Max and Mebius).

Re: Ultraman Gaia at last!

I spoke with folks running the CR booth at Anime Boston last month. While they didn't leak anything official, it was pretty clear that more Ultra shows were coming at some point (I got a lot of "if you like what we've done so far, stay tuned"). Chatting with other friends who are tied to CR, the fav...

Re: Mighty Jack & Fight! Mighty Jack

Interesting. Thanks for the insight. I've got friends in Chiba who are big fans of Showa-era tokusatsu. If I can land a translator, I'll let you know.

Re: Mighty Jack & Fight! Mighty Jack

Well...not that I have one at the moment...but in your opinion, what makes for a better translation - a native English speaker with fair/good Japanese skills, or native Japanese speaker with fair/good English skills?

Re: Other Tsuburaya series (Fireman, Mirrorman, etc)

That's awesome news! I wish I could do more than just clap my hands with glee, but my Japanese is only good enough to speak with toddlers or with business folks after last call at the sake bar. (Even timing would be a stretch for me.) So I guess for now, all I can offer is more cheering. If you can ...

Driving in from the TDF

Just wanted to make the introduction - been enjoying your work for years, and you've been instrumental in helping me learn Japanese, in particular, singing it. Suffice it to say that thanks to you, I had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to have dinner with Yuriko Hishimi and friends at her restaurant i...

Other Tsuburaya series (Fireman, Mirrorman, etc)

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere and I just haven't tripped over them yet with the "search" feature. Curious as to your thoughts on other Tsuburaya series as possible next shows to tackle. Completely understand the "undercut" risks whether from streaming services or other potential rel...

Re: Mighty Jack & Fight! Mighty Jack

Been lurking here for years but finally signed up to the forum. You folks do awesome work. Looks like it's been a year since the last post about Mighty Jack. I have the box set and it's a joy to watch, even raw. I know this would be a hard show to translate, but if you ever do...well...that would be...
